Timeshare is a form of owning holiday accommodation for a specific period in a year. Here you own an apartment or a private home in a holiday resort to spend your vacation. You do not own the property but you are free to spend a specified period of time in a year. In a timeshare, purchasers are free of hassles and they are certain of the availability of quality accommodation. Timeshare offers a high standard accommodation and they are no less than good hotels and inns.

Timeshares are available in two systems: Fixed week system and floating system. In fixed week system you own a specific week to the
apartment and every year you come to spend your vacation to that particular place. While in floating system you own any week within a seasonal band of time and at the beginning of the year you have to book the week in that season. But it will be under the subject of availability.

Timeshare accommodation ranges from small villas to large apartments having two to three bedrooms, drawing room, dining and lounge. You will also have a well-equipped kitchen and bathroom with hot tubs. Timeshares come in top grade, medium grade and lower grade. The apartments are usually measured by their sleeping capacity. They are divided into studio (accommodating 2 persons), 1 Bedroom (accommodating 2 to 4 persons), 2 Bedroom (accommodating 4 to 6 persons) and 3 Bedroom (accommodating 6 to 8 persons).

Timeshares are usually sold on the basis of one-week increment. The cost of the apartments depends on their size, location, facilities, amenities and the time of the year of booking. The cost of the apartments ranges from $8000 to $12000. Besides, the owner has to pay an annual maintenance charge, which is between $125 to $400 dollars.

The exchange system is an important part of timeshare. In this system you can deposit your week to the exchange company and take out another week in another resort, worldwide. If you win points in this then you are free to choose a resort of your own choice. If you do not want to visit the same place and same resort every year go for this system. At present there are six timeshare exchange companies existing in UK.

To book an apartment, always look for existing owners. As there are large numbers of owners who want to sell, it is a buyers market. Always consult reliable sources that are familiar with the resort's area and development. You must be careful in buying a timeshare as some resorts are very attractive but they do not have any state regulation. Realize the market of timeshare so that if you have to resale it, you do not have to face any problem.

Timeshare is superior to many hotels and lodges. They will provide you with high standard living. Almost all timeshare resorts have all kinds of amenities and leisure facilities. Timeshares provide home for everyone. They are made for all ages starting from a retired couple to couple with young children and even to the newly married couple. So if you have a week in hand every year start looking for a timeshare in your favorite resort.
