Budget Travel TipBudget Travel Tip - Top of the Mornin' to Ya: Ten Reasons to Visit Ireland

Trying to decide where your next vacation destination will be? Why not make a trip to one of the most scenic destinations in the world - Ireland. The rolling hills of Ireland and the country's beautiful architecture offer a stunning landscape for you to enjoy. And the modern cities mixed with the country's deep heritage make for plenty of fun for everyone.

1. Once in Ireland the first thing you will notice is the breathtaking scenery all around you. Ireland is a beautiful country with some spectacular sites for sightseeing or just taking in a magnificent view. The Cliffs of Moher are one spot to consider visiting during your trip. The cliffs plunge 200 meters into the ocean and offer spectacular views from high above the Atlantic.

2. One of the attractions that Ireland is most famous for is its pubs. And chances are, after visiting Ireland's pubs you will have trouble finding other pubs that compare. By doing a little research before going to
Ireland, either through the internet or travel books, you should be able to find a number of quality pubs in the area, no matter where you choose to stay.

3. If you do make your way into a pub, you will most likely come across some Irish music. Traditional Irish music is definitely worth hearing during your trip. There are a number of pubs in Ireland that have live music every night, making your stop at the pub even more entertaining. There are also a number of music festivals held across Ireland each year. The Cork Jazz Festival, held in the town of Cork on Ireland's southern coast, is always full of music and food, making for a great time for all its visitors.

4. Ireland is a nation with a deep, rich history, which you probably will not be able to help diving into once you have arrived. Ireland is home to a number of castles, some of which tourists can arrange to stay in during their visit. One of the most well-known castles in Ireland is Blarney Castle, home of the famous Blarney Stone. Dublin Castle, located in Ireland's capital city of Dublin, is rich in history and should be a stop on your tour of the country.

5. One of the most popular day trips for tourists in Ireland is to take a quick ferry ride to one of the many islands off of the coast of Ireland. Being an island, Ireland is completely surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and there are a number of islands in the surrounding water. Tourists can head off the west coast of Ireland to the Aran Islands of Inis Mor, Inis Meain, and Inis Oirr. Off the northwest coast lies Coney Island and Achill Island. And to the northeast of Ireland lies Rathlin Island.

6. The rare accommodations are a top reason for visiting Ireland. Places to stay in Ireland vary greatly from one to the next. Of course, you could stay in a hotel, but you could do that anywhere. Have you considered staying in a castle? Located in Mayo, Ireland north of Galway on the west coast, Ashford Castle offer guests the option of staying in this actual castle. The historic castle was renovated to now house a resort, complete with a number of dining rooms, activities available, and a health spa.

7. Speaking of spas, you will have trouble finding a spa in another part of the world that compares with some of the top spas in Ireland. Most spas in Ireland are located inside the local resorts but schedule appointments for both resort guests and non-guests. The Samas Spa at the Park Hotel is one of the finest in Ireland. One of the spa's most popular features is the lifestyle program they offer.

8. Why not plan on trying something new during your vacation to Ireland? Ireland offers tourists and locals alike a number of activities that urge visitors to get out and get active. Horseback riding through the beautiful Irish countryside offers a pleasant, exhilarating afternoon. Ireland is also home to some of the most beautiful golf courses in the world. The lush greens and beautiful backdrops of Ireland's natural scenery make a round of golf in Ireland one to remember.

9. There are a number of excellent restaurants across Ireland that will make every dining experience worthwhile. No matter where you are staying, you will be able to find a delectable restaurant nearby. There are also a number of food festivals held in the country. Galway's International Oyster Festival is held in September, and shortly after the locals in Kinsale host the Gourmet Food Festival.

10. Another reason to plan a visit to Ireland for your next vacation is its modern cities. Dublin, Belfast, Cork, Galway and Limerick all feature stylish boutiques, hip night clubs, and delectable restaurants. No matter where you choose to stay in Ireland, chances are you will rarely be without something to do. Mixed with the modern sites are the historic settings of a great nation with a vast history, ready for you to explore.
